ACE-SPED Showcases Innovations at NUC Launch of ACE Alliance and Compendium

The Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), University of Nigeria, Nsukka, participated in the official launch of the Africa Centres of Excellence (ACE) Alliance and the Compendium on Key Achievements and Impacts of the ACE Project, held on November 3, 2025, at the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja.
The event, hosted by the NUC, marked a decade of transformative impact by the ACE initiative in strengthening research, innovation, and higher education across Africa. It was graced by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, alongside the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, former Executive Secretaries, and representatives of partner organizations such as the World Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), AAU, and AFD.
During the exhibition segment, ACE-SPED proudly showcased its groundbreaking research and innovations, including projects on renewable energy technologies, smart power systems, digital education tools, and sustainable materials development. The Centre’s display reflected its continued commitment to addressing Africa’s energy challenges through research, innovation, and capacity building.
The event provided an excellent platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange, reinforcing ACE-SPED’s role as a leading centre driving sustainable energy solutions and contributing to Nigeria’s and Africa’s socio-economic development.
